Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) was founded in 1955. Since then it has become one of China’s top-ranking universities in the fields of cable communications, wireless communication, computer sciences, and electrical engineering. BUPT’s reputation extends well beyond China. In fact, in 2017 the U.S. News and World Report “Best Global Universities” Rankings placed BUPT 28th in the world for computer sciences—outranking UCLA, UW-Madison, and UIUC!

BUPT has 14 teaching units, three research institutes, and one graduate school offering programs across engineering, management, humanities, and sciences. Most of BUPT’s programs have a heavy focus on applied sciences. The university is renowned for its spirit of innovation and excellence in research and is home to two State Key Laboratories and numerous provincial key laboratories. BUPT has over 22,000 full-time students, yet the university boasts an employment rate of 100% for postgraduates and 99% for undergraduates.

Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications has active academic exchange programs with over 70 universities in over 40 universities worldwide.
