The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen(CUHK(SZ)) is a higher learning institution in Shenzhen, China. It was jointly founded by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Shenzhen University.[2] CUHK is a public research university in Hong Kong, well known for its achievement in academic research and international network of alumni.

CUHK(SZ) was officially founded on 11 October 2012 and approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (MoE) on 16 April 2014.[3]School of Management and Economics (SME) of the new university enrolled its first batch of 315 undergraduate students at the end of August 2014, including two international students. In August 2015, School of Management and Economics (SME) and School of Science and Engineering (SSE) together enrolled 618 undergraduates, including three international students from SME. In early September 2015, the first batch of postgraduate students in the university started their academic programmes, among whom 45 students are from School of Humanities and Social Science (HSS) and another 37 students are from SSE.

CUHK Shenzhen is a collegiate university. All students are required to live in a hostel of a designated College during term time throughout their normative study period at CUHK Shenzhen. Colleges are not just a place to live in, but congenial communities which provide a multicultural and diverse environment with many occasions for personal development.

From the College gym to the shared kitchen and laundry room, every part of the hall is a room to meet up with fellow residents, make new friends and grow together. Fellow residents include residential tutors, wardens, and college masters. Also, apart from receiving pastoral care, there are a plethora of informal learning opportunities offered by the college office located among hostels, for instance, college activities, student visitor programmes, seminars, mentorship, training in language, IT and leadership. They are designed to nurture your interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity, and build up your confidence and sense of social responsibility.
